How often when we feel anxious and overwhelmed, we cry out to God to speak to us. Many of us only seek Him occasionally when we are going though a crisis or needing to make a tough decision. Then we desperately want to hear from God but we aren't sure if we are hearing his voice or our own.
How do the sheep know their shepherd's voice? The shepherd has an intimate relationship with his sheep.
We need to focus more on developing a relationship that will empower us to hear from God. The more we know Him the more we will hear with deeper understanding. The more we walk with God and commune with Him the more we will know His ways, his plans and will for our life.
Through our relationship with God as we walk with Him daily, he will speak to us moment by moment. Then we can grow spiritually and become more like Him.
As we become more spiritually mature in a close relationship with God the more we can hear correctly what God has to say to us.
It's quite simple, in any relationship the more rennverse, listen, and understand the closer we become. Relationship is the key to hearing from God.
God is not a "quick fix" that we cry out to when we are in distress. He is a loving Father that longs to have a relationship and communicate with His children.
God's voice is authoritative and expresses a spirit of peace and confidence. He has the voice of a loving Father.
We need to be closely connected to God so we will be in tune to that "still small voice" deep within our spirit.
Actively listen to God intentionally and with expectation
